To make your frozen, pre-baked base or fresh dough pizza, pre-heat the grill for ten minutes using the on-board timer, then place the pizza on the stone plate. Two grill elements, one below the stone and one above, perform the cooking.
You can control these separately – the instructions suggest that if you’re making a fresh dough pizza, cook with both grill elements on for eight minutes, then with just the bottom one for a further two minutes. We found that increasing this bottom grill element cooking time a little will make the pizza a bit more pleasurably crispy.
During cooking, the stone base rotates to ensure even cooking, and there is a window at the top of the device so you can see how your pizza is doing. The metal casing of the grill does get hot however, so take care. There are small plastic handles for opening the grill.
We made a variety of fresh dough and pre-baked base pizzas and enjoyed the results. Our pizzas were a bit better than those made in a conventional gas oven. Instructions are easy to follow and there’s also a deep pan for making omelettes. It is available from Prezzybox.
Pros: Works really well, easy to use, performs better than a gas oven
Cons: Metal casing can get hot
